About Highway 2 Adventure, Scotland

Based in Angus in the Eastern Highlands of Scotland, Highway 2 Adventure has easy access to stunning locations for outdoor adventure activities in the Cairngorms National Park and beyond. Highway 2 Adventure is a part of Highglen Adventure Limited, owned by Mike McLaggan and Jane Andrews. Highglen also run their sister company Glentrek, who organise walking and related activities.

The coastal towns of Carnoustie, Arbroath and Montrose lie within a short drive of the Scottish cities of Dundee and Aberdeen. North and south of the seaside towns is a gorgeous coastline and a wealth of fabulous sandy beaches, coves and cliffs.

The shoreline is ideal for adventure such as coasteering, sea kayaking and climbing. Here you'll also find a host of Scottish wildlife including seabirds and marine life, such as seals and dolphins.

Inland within the Cairngorms National Park are the green and rolling hills of Angus Glens. Waterfalls, rivers, moors and mountains offer the perfect terrain for outdoor activities, including canyoning, gorge walking, climbing/abseiling and mountain biking.

Our enthusiastic and highly qualified instructors

Highway 2 Adventure has a passion for Scotland's outdoors. We are keen to share our knowledge and experience with all our customers. Our company is a member of the Outdoor Angus Group, and we are committed to promoting outdoor activities in this area of Scotland.

Our instructors are highly qualified and have undertaken the relevant and specific outdoor skills training. We hold an Adventure Activity licence (AALS) are members of The Institute of Outdoor Learning and the National Navigation Award Scheme.

Michael McLaggan (Director and chief instructor)

Mike mcLaggan

Michael has been active in the outdoors for more than 20 years.

He has twice completed all of Scotland's 283 Munros (the Scottish mountains with a summit of more than 3000ft) and has a vast knowledge of Scotland.

Michael works in a variety of roles within Outdoor Education holds a range of outdoor qualifications, including summer and winter Mountain Leader Awards, Single Pitch Award and Trail Cycle Award.

He is a former medical officer and member of Tayside Mountain Rescue Team and as a WEMSI Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician has a wealth of experience in First Aid Instruction.

Jane Andrews (Director)

Jane Andrews

Jane is passionate about the Scottish outdoors.

With her bubbly personality and marketing skills she is the driving force behind the business.

Jane is a Trail Cycle Leader and leads a variety of our activities. As an experienced pharmacist she has become an invaluable member of the Highglen team in teaching First Aid.

Qualified instructors

Highway 2 Adventure employs the help of a dedicated team of freelance and qualified instructors. They each have a passion for the outdoors and are fully committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all our customers.
